The angry complaint came from behind them.
Torkel turned to see the last man left on the sands. The one who had not been Chosen. How many times had he stood there and watched as other men were chosen during the presentation then left with eager smiles? But never had he protested a female’s right to choose.

I loved this book(and left a review on Amazon), and I am looking forward to more from this series, and in particular Kyiele’s (sp?) book. All the men are intriguing, but he has certainly caught my eye. I just love the idea of the choosing and what it entails.
