UGh, my disappointment knew no end last week when my flight was delayed due to lightning and storms then delayed, delayed and well…you get the pic. I tried one airline after another to get there but it just didn’t happen. I’m sorry for all the readers and fans I planned to see as well as authors. Now I feel like I need to sign up next year and arrive two weeks earlier so murphy’s law can’t screw with me The pics from the conference were amazing and my writing bestie MK Eidem was awesome giving my books out since I’d already shipped them ahead. Nothing to do but move forward.
This means in a few days, I’m going to do some small giveaways to handle the swag and gifts I’d planned to use at RTC. Keep your eyes peeled.
Want more info about my novella in the upcoming Embrace The Romance (PISA 2)anthology? You’re in luck because I’m in the mood to share about my pet in the story Wired for Love. 🙂 I went with a dog because I’ve always had a dog and absolutely love them.
Bogan, my cyber pet, is based off the Belgian malinois breed. I learned about them when I was scrolling the net for which dog to choose and everything I read made me like them all the more. I also got lost in the world of youtube watching videos about them. (note to self- stay away from youtube when writing.) LOL. Anyway below is a small snippet. Enjoy!
Instead of coming toward him as he’d commanded, Bogan alerted, tail straight out and body angled at the window. Hunter stood and crossed the space to place a hand on the war mongrel’s head. He and the others soldiers had learned the small physical contact would sometimes comfort the animals when they appeared on edge.
Bogan didn’t relax.
Hunter crouched beside him, hoping to connect, but Bogan avoided his gaze. Deliberately. Frustration mixed with empathy bubbled up for the animal who no longer had a handler. He didn’t need this.
Trying to puzzle it out wouldn’t get Hunter anywhere and the more he waited, the more agitated Bogan grew, letting out another low whine.
All at once the obvious answer came to Hunter. Only one thing, one person could have caused the war mongrel’s strong reaction.
Whew! I do love this story 🙂 So if you want to see what else happens make sure to order your copy using the links below as well as fantastic sci fi romances from my fellow authors.
I’m a bad author and haven’t updated my blog in a bit. My apologies. Quick update is that Rydak’s Fall is pretty much finished but I’m going through fixing all the parts from my massive rewrite a while ago then it goes to the editor. I had to take a break from listening to the audio for Rise of the Shadow Warriors audio (Warlords) but I’m back on it. Look for an announcement soon.
Upcoming book conference is Romancing the Capitol (Ottawa Canada) hosted by Eve Langlais. I get to connect with readers and authors I’ve only chatted with online. If you’re from Ottawa or close, the signing is August 5th at the Holiday Inn Kanata from 2p-4p. Come out, I’d love to meet you 🙂
I’ll be without internet soon as we switch providers but the plan is to blog more again and I’ll get a preorder up for Rydak as soon as I have it ready
More good news sharing going on. Kyele’s Passion is out in audio. Woot! Took a lot of phone calls and emails due to a snag in the process but he’s available now if you want to hear him. 🙂
Happy hump day to all!
I’m thrilled to announce and do a cover reveal for an upcoming project I have in the fall.
The creative minds of today’s leading SFR authors (including me) have joined forces to bring readers 12 amazing, never before released original Science Fiction Romance stories all in one place – Embrace the Romance: Pets in Space 2! Coming October 10, 2017.
I’m a huge dog lover and 10% of the first month’s profits go to Hero-Dogs.org. Hero Dogs raises and trains service dogs and places them free of charge with US Veterans to improve quality of life and restore independence.
That’s all I needed to know to get involved. As it gets closer to the date, I’ll have blurbs and more details on all the authors and their stories so you’ll get nice peeks into this upcoming anthology 🙂
